ArtWalk at HPL offers one of the largest and most stunning exhibition spaces in Hartford, and we’re looking for artists to showcase in the 2014 ArtWalk series! Situated on the 3rd floor of the Downtown Library in a space that looks down onto historic Main Street, the gallery offers unique visibility and exposure, adding to the increasing vibrancy of Downtown Hartford. The ArtWalk hanging system’s movable panels allow maximum flexibility for each show.

The stunning state-of-the-art gallery was made possible through the generosity of donors, especially the Beatrice Fox Auerbach Foundation at Hartford Foundation for Public Giving.

Hi, a question: I have two possible series I would consider in my application. The hanging wall pieces I have should present no problem, (is there a size restriction?), but would there be facilities to put up shelving, as my second body of work is drawings and paintings on book dust jackets. I’d apply with one body of work or the other. My Dust Jacket Drawings should ideally be shown on shelving, either one long shelf, or like a bookcase format, which would then take up less space. Thanks! Ron

Have an artist I am trying to help and wonder if you allow exhibiting artists to make it known that the work can be bought – or do you require that no commercial element be involved or indicated?

    thanks

    • Caitlin T. says:

Hi Bill – We do allow (and actually require) that at least a portion of the art be for sale, and that if anything is sold while on show here (or 30 days after), 20% of the proceeds come back to HPL. I hope that helps!

Well, today is October 1st ….. I’ve obviously missed the deadline! Is there a mailing list that I may get on to remind me of any future opportunities?
